Menorca's interior fincas offer a stillness and authenticity that no seafront hotel can replicate, and seven nights is genuinely enough to feel the island slow you down. That said, some travelers prefer two nights near Ciutadella's harbour at the end of the stay, allowing late dinners in the old town without a rural drive home. How to do it well

- Book your finca for July and August by January at the latest — the best properties with genuine rural character and private pools are let by the fortnight and disappear from the market before spring.
