How to do it well
The counsel our advisors give travelers planning this journey:
- Book your crewed yacht between January and March for July or August departures — APA Charter Association-licensed vessels on the Balearic circuit fill by late spring, and the best captains with northwest-coast expertise are taken first.
- Request a vessel rated for the Tramuntana swells; the northwest coast between Cap Gros and Sa Dragonera can run a short, steep chop in the Tramuntana wind, and hull design matters more than charter price.
- Arrange the Dragonera landing permit in advance through your captain — the Parc Natural de sa Dragonera limits daily visitor numbers and walk-on access is not guaranteed without prior coordination.
- May and early June offer the clearest water visibility and uncrowded calas before the high-season flotilla arrives; late September holds warmth and excellent sailing wind as the summer crowds thin.
