Whether to anchor in one city or move between Seville, Córdoba and Granada
Staying in a single city allows deeper immersion — morning light in the Alcázar gardens, a second afternoon in the archive, dinners at Eslava or Abantal without the friction of travel. Moving between all three, however, is the only way to read Andalucia's layered civilisations in full: the Roman-Moorish palimpsest of Córdoba, the final Nasrid flourish of Granada and the imperial grandeur of Seville each demand their own time. For a six-night journey we typically recommend two nights in Córdoba, two in Granada and two in Seville, with a private car and an expert historian accompanying the transfers so that the road itself becomes part of the narrative. Travelers who have visited before often invert this, spending three nights in Granada to allow unhurried return visits to the Alhambra and the Generalife.
How to do it well

- Alhambra night visits sell out months in advance and curatorial access requires a separate institutional relationship — brief us at least four months before your preferred travel dates.
- The finest months for heritage travel are March through May and mid-September through November, when monuments are less crowded and the quality of light in the palaces is exceptional.
- The Real Alcázar of Seville closes entirely for private functions with some regularity; confirm your Seville dates early so we can lock access around any institutional closures.
- Medina Azahara requires advance coordination with the Conjunto Arqueológico for any visit beyond the standard public route — allow six to eight weeks for the necessary permissions.
