Splitting three nights to a lake-shore property and four to a working estancia, however, gives children two genuinely different worlds in one trip — a distinction that becomes a lasting memory rather than a single backdrop. We generally recommend the split for families with children between eight and fourteen, when novelty holds the most power, and the full town base for families with children under six who need routine and short distances.
