Lufthansa has introduced their new Premium Economy Class available on flights December or later. Designed to offer improved comfort, the new Class caters to the leisure or business traveler. Delight yourself to a relaxing experience while you indulge in more personal space and extra amenities.

During a press conference Jens Bischof, CCO & Member of the Lufthansa German Airlines Board in charge of Sales, Product and Marketing, emphasized the significance of the new class. “Our Premium Economy Class will create a completely new travel experience.” The airline is now in position to align the company in the premium segment within the international competitive environment.

The brand’s fleet of Boeing 747-8s will be the first to be fitted with the new Premium Economy seats and ready for December of this year. It is expected that all aircrafts in Lufthansa’s fleet will be retrofitted to fly the winter of 2014/2015. Covering international flights, the airline’s timetable will reflect the following destinations, from Frankfurt: Beijing, Buenos Aires, Chicago, Hong Kong, Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Seoul and Washington D.C. The airline also announced that flyers can expect their first Airbus 340-600 with the Premium Economy Class to be available by the end of January 2015. It will take off from Munich to Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo. By late summer 2015 the entire long-haul fleet will be fitted with the Premium Economy Class.
